Inglis graduates dominated Flemington’s feature races on Saturday winning five of the first six races.
IRISH LIGHTS was a $230,000 buy at the 2008 Inglis Easter yearling sale and she looked a nice type when running down the highly rated Avenue in the Sofitel Girls Day Out Stakes (1100m). The Fastnet Rock filly is trained by David Hayes and she had been runner-up to star filly Rostova on debut last autumn.
CARRARA was a $200,000 buy from the Little Plains Stud draft at the 2008 Inglis Melbourne Premier yearling sale and he is proving to be an outstanding advertisement for Elvstroem. The Tony Vasil trained colt was burdened with 59kg in the Listed Henry Bucks Best Dressed Stakes (1400m) but he refused to buckle in the straight to complete his third win at black type level.
BLACK CAVIAR was a $210,000 purchase from the Swettenham draft at the 2008 Inglis Melbourne Premier yearling sale and she overcame a tardy getaway to win the G3 Danehill Stakes. The Bel Esprit filly maintain her unbeaten record at headquarters and trainer Peter Moody is keeping his options open with her. They include the G1 Manikato Stakes and/or the G1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes.
CATS WHISKER cost $250,000 at the 2007 Inglis Easter yearling sale and she living right up to the potential that was evident last spring. The Fusaichi Pegasus mare was Group 1 placed in the 1000 Guineas and she has trained on to win the G3 Cockram Stakes and G2 Let’s Elope Stakes this time in. Like Irish Lights, she is a Coolmore Easter graduate.
CAPE D’AMORE completing the Inglis winning streak at Flemington. He was a cheap $20,000 buy out of the 2006 Inglis Premier yearling sale and, like European superstar Sea The Stars, is by former Darley shuttler Cape Cross.
