Jakkalberry relocates to Australia

A half-share in Italian Group 1 winner Jakkalberry has been purchased by Australian Thoroughbred Bloodstock.

Jakkalberry (6h Storming Home – Claba Di San Jore by Barathea) claimed the G1 Gran Premio di Milano (2400m) in 2010 and added three more wins up to G3 level in Rome last year.  At his most recent appearance, the Marco Botti trained galloper finished midfield in the G1 Hong Kong Vase won by Dunaden.

The Irish bred stayer is a half-brother to two Italian Derby winners in Crackerjack King and Awelmarduk.  He is by Storming Home (Machiavellian) who is also the sire of G1 VRC Derby winner Lion Tamer.

Having qualified for the Melbourne and Caulfield Cups, Jakkalberry will have two starts in Dubai before relocating.  “We are delighted to have Australian Thoroughbred Bloodstock as a new owner in the stable,” Botti said.  “Jakkalberry is training well in Dubai and we look forward to the challenge of training him for Australia’s greatest race.”
