Keep The Peace squared the ledger with Wall Street with a long neck victory over her arch-rival in the G1 Otaki Classic (1600m) in Saturday.
Keep The Peace (4m Keeper – Peace Of Mind by Wild Rampage) edged out Wall Street in the Mudgway Stakes (1400m) in August before he turned the tables on her in the G1 Windsor Park and G1 Spring Classic at Hastings.
They locked horns again in the G1 Waikato Draught Sprint earlier this month when they were placed behind rejuvenated galloper Mufhasa.
Trainer Shaune Ritchie will send Keep The Peace to Australia for the G1 Ranvet Stakes at Rosehill next month. She was far from disgraced at her only outing over here when third to Well Rounded and Purple in the G2 Matriarch Stakes at Flemington in November.
Keep The Peace is from a half-sister to G1 Hong Kong Derby winner Makarpura Star (Native Kingdom). She is raced by Paul Bellingham and Mick Dittman and they sold a majority share in the mare to S F Bloodstock in December. S F Bloodstock partners include Gavin Murphy, an Australian working in New York City, and agents Neil Bowden and Henry Field.
Her sire Keeper (Danehill) is fourth on the NZ sires’ premiership this season behind Pentire, Thorn Park and Pins. On the individual winners list, Pins (38) leads Keeper (35) but the leader had a two year start at stud.
Besides Keep The Peace, Keeper’s elite level winners are Miss Keepsake (Queensland Oaks), Insouciant (NZ 1000 Guineas), Keepa Cruisin (Levin Classic) and Linky Dink (QTC T J Smith Classic).
Keeper stands at Cambridge for a $15,000 (+ gst). Overall, he has sired 177 individual winners at a 65% strike-rate.
