Redoute’s Choice mare Dystopia sky-rocketed in value after winning the LR Triscay Stakes on Saturday. She is raced by Bob Ingham and is a sister to G1 racehorse and sire Stratum.
Dystopia (5m Redoute’s Choice – Bourgeois by Luskin Star) had been stakes placed in the LR Kevin Stakes at Caulfield last year and parlayed that into capital letters when holding off Alberton Park and Ofcourseican at the Gardens.
“I was a good run because she was being chased down by two good mares,” trainer Chris Waller explained. “It’s taken a bit of time to win a stakes race but her form in the past year has been terrific.
Waller has been spacing her runs and the next target will be in LR Wenona Girl Hcp next month. “I was chatting to Bob about her breeding,” Waller added. “She’s already got a lot of residual value but Bob will be tickled pink now that she’s done it on her own.”
Dystopia was an $800,000 buy at the 2008 Inglis Easter yearling sale. She increased the Redoute’s Choice stakes tally to 83 winners of 173 black-type races.
