Luckygray is a great advertisement for the Inglis Weanling Sale at Newmarket starting on June 27.
Perth-based Luckygray was a $31,000 buy from Goodwood Farm at the 2008 Inglis Weanling Sale. He was pin-hooked by Riverslea Farm and resold for $46,000 at the 2009 Perth Magic Millions.
Luckygray (4g Bradbury’s Luck – Damah Lady by Mukaddamah) burst through $1 million in earnings with a G3 victory in the Belmont Sprint last Saturday. He won the G1 Railway Stakes earlier this season and will be sent east for the spring carnival after carrying 61kgs to demolish a class field at Belmont last weekend.
Luckygray is from the first crop of Glenlogan Park stallion Bradbury’s Luck and featured in the Inglis first-season sire showcase back in 2008.
First-season sires represented in the upcoming Inglis Weanling Sale include Group 1 winners All American, Big Brown, Denman, Duporth, Manhattan Rain, Nicconi, Onemorenomore, Turffontein and Wanted.
The catalogue of 338 weanlings also includes the progeny of top stallions such as Fastnet Rock, High Chaparral, Lonhro, Danehill Dancer, Commands, Encosta de Lago, Flying Spur, Testa Rossa, Snitzel, Al Maher and Starcraft.
