Lynden Park owner Julie Nairn will donate services to three stallions this season to support Living Legends.
Tenders to Ridgeview Park residents Golden Snake (USA) and Best Choice and Lauriston Park based stallion Desert King (Ire) are on offer by tender from September 14 to 30.
“We are all so appreciative of the work Living Legends do and it has been wonderful to see the horses out and about visiting schools and hospitals, promoting racing in such a positive way,” Nairn said. “Hopefully, that can continue long into the future.”
Desert King is the sire of Melbourne Cup legend Makybe Diva while Best Choice is a half-brother to Hong Kong sprinting legend Silent Witness.
Living Legends Chairman Martin O’Connor appreciates the support. “At a time when Living Legends can use all the help it can get, the offer by Julie Nairn of LP Stallions is gratefully acknowledged,” he said. “This is a time when we need the help of all owners, not just the owners of the resident horses who continue to assist.”
O’Connor bred and part-owned Cox Plate hero Fields Of Omagh who was the catalyst for establishing Living Legends north of Melbourne. He was foaled and reared at Lynden Park.
Another of Living Legends favourite – Apache Cat – was conceived at Lynden Park. “We derived great pleasure from following the careers of Fields Of Omagh and Apache Cat and we continue to keep in touch with their breeders and owners,” Nairn said. “It is wonderful that they have found such a great home at Living Legends.”
