Darley sire Medaglia D’Oro topped the Goffs 2YO Ready to Run Sale at Kempton Park on Tuesday. His half-brother to G1 filly She’s Included made 130,000 pounds on a day that saw staggering increases in turnover (85%), average (56%) and median (60%).
The Medaglia D’Oro – Dancingonice colt was offered by Mocklershill Stud and was knocked down to Maurice Sines. His dam was a Listed winner of the Fuji Stakes at Hollywood Park and her filly She’s Included (Include) was G1 placed in the Del Mar Debutante Stakes.
Australian shuttlers were also prominent in the Top 10 on the leader-board. Bobby O’Ryan went to 70,000 pounds for a smashing colt by Coolmore sire Dutch Art from Harefield Lodge.
A son of Chatswood Stud shuttler Amadeus Wolf from Bansha House was among the many other highlights when falling to Ross Doyle for 50,000 pounds. And an Exceed And Excel – Mimi Mouse colt made the same amount for owner Mike Murphy.
“We are absolutely delighted with the day’s trade,” Goffs Chief Executive Henry Beeby said. “It’s fair to say that this has been the most positive breeze up for quite some time.
“There has been plenty of talk about a London Sale – well this is it! The different approach to this year’s sale in terms of promoting it as a social occasion mixing business and pleasure has clearly paid off while the proximity to London and Heathrow is a huge draw for buyers.”
