Victorian trainer – studmaster Peter Smith has signed Mezyaan to stand at Springview Farm in Euroa.

Bred by Emirates Park Stud, Mezyaan will debut at a $2,200 (inc gst) fee alongside multiple stakes winner Swift Alliance.  He’s a son of Lonhro out of Zyoon (Al Maher) who is a younger half-sister to champion sire and sire of sires Encosta de Lago.

Smith is in the process of accumulating around 20 mares to support his new sire who was unraced due to a sesamoid injury.  “I was attracted to his pedigree and I’m excited that I have been able to buy into such an amazing family.  He’s a very nice type of horse and there is no reason why he can’t breed quality horses himself.

“As a trainer, you understand how important temperament is, and Mezyaan is outstanding to deal with, he is just a beautiful animal.  Couple that with his pedigree, and you’re on a winner.”
