Special Diva increased her residual value with another victory for owners Rob and June Harding at Sandown on Sunday.

The Snitzel mare appreciated the Heavy 9 conditions on the Lakeside circuit to claim the Clanbrooke Racing Hcp (1400m) by more three lengths under Damien Oliver.  “It always gives me a special thrill to win for the Hardings,” trainer Mick Price said.  “They were among my first owners and I value their relationship.

“Special Diva is only a little thing but she carried some weight and got the job done.  She handled the ground like a typical Snitzel and I think in the next 12 months she will develop into a good mare.

“I purchased her in conjunction with Sheamus Mills.  She has a nice pedigree and page, and if we manage her right she will be a quality breeding mare down the track.

“Looking towards the future, if the Sydney Autumn Carnival behaves like it usually does, that being wet, we may get the chance to take her up there and have a crack at some black-type races.”

Sheamus Mills Bloodstock (FBAA) bought her for $450,000 from Goodwood Farm at the 2015 Inglis Easter Sale and a black-type win in Sydney will go a long way to repaying that price-tag.

Snitzel sired her from Jacqueline Rouge (Ne Coupez Pas) who won a Listed Tatts Mile at Eagle Farm and second dam Northeast Sheila (Keltrice) won a G3 Blue Diamond Preview at Caulfield.
