Mundi Gully – Bred to Win – Tuesday, 8 December 2009

The richest race in Australia today is the $100,000 Magic Millions 2YO Plate (1050m) at Mackay (Race 5 at 3.45pm AEST, 4.45pm AEDT) and there are several promising youngsters engaged.

Mundi Gully (2c Shamardal – Jackie by Last Tycoon) might have the edge on his rivals.  The Julie Green trained colt was runner-up to Adebisi at Eagle Farm on October 10 on debut and then scored a six length victory in the XXXX Gold Breeders Maiden at Yeppoon a fortnight later.

Mundi Gully is by Darley’s leading second-season sire and was sold by Rothwell Park at the 2009 Gold Coast Magic Millions.  His dam is a half-sister to Murray Bridge Cup (LR) winner Fraar Magic (Fraar).

Owner Ron White paid $32,000 for Mundi Gully.  He has won $21,700 so far and can add the winning purse of $64,500 this afternoon.
