Mungrup Stud stallions Oratorio (Aus) and Danehill Express have dominated the 2YO and 3YO premierships in Western Australia.
Oratorio won his third 2YO championship following earlier titles for season’s ending 2009 and 2010.
Consistent juveniles Coruscation, Ignition and Princess Hallowell all scored twice in town and, with Westspeed bonuses, helped him top the prizemoney list with $485,000.
Oratorio (Stravinsky) wasn’t really pressured in the second-half of the season to defeat Vital Equine ($215K) and Danehill Express ($182K).
Danehill Express doubled up in the Second-season ($1.14 million) and 3YO ($959,859) premierships.
Express Service was the best his 3YOs winning the LR Challenge Stakes and Magic Millions Trophy. He is being set for the LR Hannans Hcp in Kalgoorlie in September.
Danehill Express (Danehill) sired 30 individual winners which put him in the Top 5 on the national second-season premiership. Next best in WA was Henny Hughes (27) and Husson Lightning (18).
The Mungrup pair are obvious choices when paying up for the Westspeed scheme. Oratorio stands for a $13,750 (inc gst) this year and Danehill Express is priced at $8,800 (inc gst).
