New record for Goffs February Sale

Galileo mare Teo’s Sister set a new record at Goffs February Sale on Thursday when selling for 500,000 euros.  The sister to Darley’s G1 winning shuttler Teofilo was purchased by Franck Bennillouche of Haras De Bernesq.

Teo’s Sister was consigned by Jim Bolger who enjoyed tremendous success at Goffs last November selling Royal Ascot winner Banimpire (Holy Roman Emperor) for 2.30 million euros.

Next on the leader-board was the Grand Lodge mare Tarbela who sold for 160,000 euros from the Castlebridge Consignment.  In foal to Arcano, the mare’s New Approach yearling colt made 120,000 euros at Goffs on Wdednesday.

The two day sale average increase 54 per cent to 13,381 euros.  “The Goffs February Sale is a class above other auctions at this time of year,” CEO Henry Beeby said.  “Jim Bolger has proven the point yet again that when you bring the best to Goffs you get the best prices.

“We are delighted to have started 2012 the way we finished 2011 with major advances in every sector of the market.  We now turn our attention to our best ever Kempton Breeze Up catalogue and particularly look forward to viewing the best Irish yearlings as we commence inspections for our market leading Orby Sale.”
