A Niello colt topped the 2011 Red Centre yearling sale that was held over the weekend at Pioneer Park in Alice Springs.
A total of 15 yearlings, the majority of them by Victorian based stallions, changed hands this year. The Niello colt that made $14,500 is from Chief’s Crown mare Tanith and was bred by Johnson Thoroughbreds in Victoria.
Tanith was placed in the G1 VATC Thousand Guineas and G2 Moonee Valley Oaks. She is a half-sister to Flemington G3 winner Bel Danoro (Danehill) who stands at Vinery Stud.
