Oratorio (Ire) remains in Australia

Oratorio won’t return to Coolmore Stud’s Irish base for the 2012 northern season.  He is currently completing a sixth southern book in the Hunter Valley at an $11,000 (inc gst) fee.

Oratorio (Ire) sired 16 winners in his initial Irish crop headed by Beethoven and Fencing Master who filled out a G1 quinella in the 2009 Dewhurst Stakes.

His second northern crop included 25 juvenile winners topped by G2 Goodwood Vintage Stakes winner King Torus and Italian Listed winner Mantissa.

His numbers continued to swell this year with 23 two year-old winners in Europe but the quality was a concern with Italian based filly Cherry Collect his sole juvenile stakes winner.

Oratorio (Danehill) was a G1 winner of the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere at two.  He trained on to claim the G1 Eclipse Stakes and Irish Champion Stakes as a three year-old.

His Australian bred progeny includes the G1 winners Banchee (NZ Diamond Stakes) and Manawanui (Goldxen Rose) and Torio’s Quest (G2 Queensland Guineas).
