Playing God will line up against the nation’s best three year-olds after a brilliant victory in the Magic Millions Perth 3YO Trophy (1400m) at Ascot on Saturday.

Playing God (3c Blackfriars-Dolly Will Do by Rubiton) cruised home at his first run since winning the G1 Kingston Town Stakes in December.  The Blackfriars colt had won the Aquanita Stakes and WA Guineas prior to that elite victory over older gallopers.

Trainer Neville Parnham will set him for an Eastern States campaign starting with the G1 VRC Australian Guineas at Flemington on March 6.

“He found a few lengths very quickly coming to the turn and won as he liked,” trainer Neville Parnham said.  “It’s always easy to stay on your home turf but he’s a colt and winning a race like the Australian Guineas would take him to another level.”

As well as the Australian Guineas, Playing God holds an entry for the G1 Australian Cup at weight-for-age and there’s also the option for a crack at the G1 AJC Derby.

Playing God has won 6 of his 10 starts with earnings over $700,000 for Colin Loxton’s Cockatoo Ridge Syndicate.  He was a $27,0000 buy from Durham Lodge at the 2009 Perth Magic Millions yearling sale and is a younger brother of God Has Spoken who is a stakes winners of the G3 WA Sires’ Produce Stakes, G3 R J Peters Stakes and LR Aquanita Stakes.
