Collector emphasised the value of the Magic Millions QTIS 600 yearling sale at the Toowoomba Cup meeting on Thursday.
Collector (2g Nothing To Lose – Kosciusko Country by Timber Country) finished strongly to win the $150,000 J J Atkins QTIS 2YO Plate (1200m) by a half-length from Outback Grande (Outback Prince) and Mr Favulous (Falvelon).
“I thought he was a good thing,” trainer Robert Bradshaw said even though the youngster started at $16. “He sat five wide at Sunshine Coast last time and won in a canter.”
Collector was purchased by owner Leigh Wanless for just $7,500 from the draft of Robyn Wise at the 2010 Magic Millions QTIS 600 Yearling Sale. The two victories have earned connections $118,500.
Collector’s sire Nothing To Lose (USA) is a Nijinsky line stallion and was a G1 winner of the Shadwell Turf Mile at Keeneland. The gelding is a younger half-brother to six-time South Korean winner Wanggol (Jet Spur).
Nothing to Lose has 11 lots at the upcoming Magic Millions QTIS 600 Yearling Sale. Also catalogued in the auction is a full sister to J J Atkins Plate runner-up Outback Grande.
The 2011 Magic Millions QTIS 600 yearling sale will be held at the Gold Coast on April 17 & 18.
