A first-crop yearling by Ready’s Image fetched $150,000 when sold at Fasig-Tipton’s 2011 New York bred yearling sale in Saratoga on the weekend.
The colt was consigned by Thorndale Farm and was bought by Florida based HIT vendor Nick de Meric.
Meric’s purchase was produced by an unraced daughter of Storm Creek, a sire-son of Storm Cat. Close-up in the female family is the USA G3 winning Tale of the Cat mare Feline Story.
The Fasig-Tipton also sold a Ready’s Image filly for $80,000 at its Kentucky yearling sale in July. She was offered by Oak Lodge and was purchased by Canadian based Winsong Farm.
Ready’s Image won 4 of his 10 starts for trainer Todd Pletcher and owner James Scatuorchio including the G2 Sanford Stakes at Saratoga and Tremont Stakes (by 8 lengths) at Belmont Park.
Pletcher claimed Ready’s Image the best 2YO he had ever trained. He was also runner-up in the G1 Hopeful Stakes and he came back at three to win the Adjudicating Stakes at Belmont.
Ready’s Image (More Than Ready-Clever Phrase by Clever Trick) is related to leading sires In Reality and Indian Charlie.
His weanlings met with strong demand in North America last year including a colt that topped the penultimate session of the Keeneland November Sale.
Ready’s Image (USA) shuttles from Walmac Farm in Kentucky and is due to begin his third stud season in Australia at a fee of $6,600 (inc gst).
