Charge Forward filly Cavalry Rose was an eye-catching winner on debut last month and she even more impressive when scoring again at Rosehill on Saturday.
Cavalry Rose (2f Charge Forward – Albertson Rose by Danske) won the Styletread Hcp from smart youngsters Jade Marauder, The Broken Shore and Tatra. She was an $85,000 purchase from the 2011 Inglis Classic yearling sale and has now earned over $216,500.
Bred by Grant Briscoe, Cavalry Rose is trained by Gerald Ryan for Triple Crown Syndications. “She has beaten the colts twice with close enough to 57kg on her back and she is getting the job done nicely,” Ryan said. “We will sit back and let her tell us where to go.”
The sources of Cavalry Rose’s early running talent are not difficult to find. She is from a precocious New Zealand family by a stallion who displayed and now transmits an abundance of high-class juvenile speed.
Four of Charge Forward’s six stakes winners have won black type races at two: Headway, Shrapnel, Solar Charged and Fort Lincoln.
Nine yearlings by Arrowfield resident Charge Forward will be offered at the upcoming Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale, including a colt from Road to Damascus (Flying Spur) in the Bellerive Stud draft.
