Running double for Reset in Armanasco Stakes

Darley stallion Reset was represented by his fifth individual stakes winner this season when Pinker Pinker won the G2 Angus Armanasco Stakes at Caulfield on Saturday.  The Greg Eurell trained filly joins 2010 Armanasco Stakes winner Set For Fame, Yourein, Avienus and Well Rounded among Reset’s black-type brigade.

Pinker Pinker (3f Reset – Miss Marion by Success Express) lived up to an excellent first up effort at Caulfield earlier this month when coming off a quick pace to defeat Sayahailmary (Keep The Faith) and Sistine Angel (Testa Rossa).  She clocked a race record 1.21.46s which was just outside Exceed And Excel’s 1400m course record.

A $120,000 graduate from Milford Thoroughbreds at the 2009 Inglis Melbourne Premier yearling sale, Pinker Pinker was competitive in the top fillies races during the spring but Eurell has lifted her to go to a new level this time in.

The Cranbourne conditioner said she will stay in Melbourne for the G3 Matron Stakes (1600m) at Flemington before going to Sydney for the G1 Vinery Stud Stakes (2000m) at Rosehill on April 2.  Other options include the G1 Coolmore Classic at Rosehill or the G3 Keith Nolan Classic at Kembla Grange.

“She had a really good spell and put on a lot of weight,” Eurell revealed.  “She’s a lot stronger and hasn’t missed a beat this time.  She can handle the wet so it won’t matter if it rains in Sydney.”

Reset has 15 yearlings catalogued for the Inglis Premier yearling sale in Melbourne this week.  One of the highlighted is a half-sister to Lonhro Stakes winner Dysphonia (Lot 303).
