Rushing Fall a Rising Star

More Than Ready took centre-stage with Group 2 winner Uni at Belmont on Saturday and he sired another future star earlier in the day when her stablemate Rushing Fall took out a 1600m juvenile maiden on debut.

Both fillies are prepared by Chad Brown.  He trains Rushing Fall for Five Racing Thoroughbreds after a successful $320,000 bid at the 2016 Fasig-Tipton Saratoga yearling sale.  She is a half-sister to Street Sense filly Miram (Pica Slew Stakes) and other winners in Japan, Canada and USA.

Rushing Fall was back in the pack until Julio Castellano coaxed her forward with a six-wide move into the straight.  She latched on to the leader Daddy Is A Legend (Scat Daddy) and went away to score by over a length, clocking 1.35.26s for a mile on giving turf at Belmont.

More Than Ready has sired 8 individual 2yo winners in North America this year.  Catholic Boy and fellow Saratoga stakes winner Copper Bullet are both heading to the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile at Del Mar in November.

Rushing Fall (2f More Than Ready – Autumnal by Forestry) is also set for higher grades after being named a ‘TDN Rising Star’ at Belmont.  She had posted a series of sharp works at Saratoga before a scheduled debut at the Spa was rained off on September 4.

The TDN post-race report was succinct and to the point.  “Off a touch slowly…raced in heavy traffic…gathered steam with a wide sweep…picked off rivals easily.”

More Than Ready stands for a $66,000 (inc gst) service fee at Vinery and he can strike again in stakes company with Ginger ‘N’ Rye in the $400,000 Presque Isle Downs Masters-Gr.2 (1300m) on Monday.  She is coming off a decisive victory in the Smart N Fancy Stakes-LR (1100m) at Saratoga.
