Stud bound Sea the Stars remains alone atop the latest World Rankings released with a rating of 135. The Arc de Triomphe winner is rated 5 pounds higher than two-time Breeders’ Cup Mile winner Goldikova.
Sea the Stars (Cape Cross) was awarded top marks for his victory over Fame and Glory in the Irish Champion Stakes. At 130, Goldikova (Anabaa) is the highest rated filly or mare in the world for her six-length score in the Prix Jacques le Marois.
Rip Van Winkle received a 129 rating for both his second-place finish to Sea the Stars in the Eclipse Stakes and his win in the Sussex Stakes.
Zenyatta was awarded 128 after the Breeders’ Cup Classic. That’s a three-pound improvement over her previous mark which she earned for winning both the Milady and the Vanity Handicaps. Zenyatta (Street Cry) is the highest rated horse in the world on synthetic surfaces ahead of Classic runner-up Gio Ponti.
Conduit, who won a second Breeders’ Cup Turf victory and the King George, is among five horses on 125. Rachel Alexandra, who is the highest rated horse in the world on dirt, earned her 125 rating with a six-length triumph in the Haskell Invitational.
