Quality mare Femina Fashion gave the locals plenty to cheer about when she romped home in the $200,000 Strategic Airlines Magic Millions Cup (1800) at the Gold Coast on Saturday.
Femina Fashion (4m Shamardal – So Tempted by Jeune) is prepared at the track by Trevor Whittington and she led throughout to defeat Pepperwood (Easy Rocking) and Fusakeo (Fusaichi Pegasus).
“She’s a really good filly,” Whittington said. “The only concern was the track but we took a gamble and it’s paid off.”
Femina Fashion is raced by Judy McCallum and Gayle Stanley and was a $35,000 buy from the Racetree draft at the 2008 Gold Coast Magic Millions yearling sale. She has now won five races including last year’s Listed Gold Coast Bracelet.
The winner is by Darley shuttler Shamardal and is a half-sister to South African based G1 winner Happy Archer (Dubawi). Their dam So Tempted is a sister to G2 VRC Wakeful Stakes winner Lolita Star.
