Shamoline Warrior was scratched from the AAAMI Victoria Derby at first light on Saturday morning.

The son of Shamardal was a $3 favourite for the classic. Flemington trainer Mark Kavanagh advised Racing Victoria stewards Shamoline Warrior was suffering from a high temperature.

Shamoline Warrior is a younger half-brother to Rebel Raider who defeated the Kavanagh-trained favourite Whobegotyou in the 2008 Victorian Derby.

Bookmakers installed the Danny O’Brien trained Rockferry (Pentire) as the new favourite for the Derby.
