Sincero stamps Stradbroke

Sincero stamped himself as one of Australia’s best three-year-olds with a perfectly-timed victory in the G1 Stradbroke Handicap at Eagle Farm.

Sincero (3g Umatilla-Yours As Always by Prego) has graduated from a restricted result at Newcastle in November to win 7 of his last 8 starts.  He was an $8,000 buy at 2009 Inglis Classic yearling sale and has now earned over $1.11 million.

“I knew the horse had the ability,” Wyong trainer Steve Farley said.  “Everyone wanted to pot him after the indifferent run in the QTC Cup but he was a lot better this week.”

Bred by Roger and Lyn Gorham and sold under the Nerreman Stud draft at the Classic Sale, Sincero won the Gosford Guineas on Anzac Day and added the Inglis Guineas during the Scone carnival.

Sincero is by Blue Gum Farm’s 22 year-old sire Umatilla (Miswaki) who was pensioned in December 2009.  His dam Yours As Always died in March.  She had also thrown minor winners by Luskin Star (2), Spartacus (2) and Zariz.
