Incoming Little Avondale stallion Nadeem notched his fifth stakes winner when Tajmeel powered to victory in the G2 Gold Circle Oaks (2400m) at Clairwood on Sunday.
Tajmeel (3f Nadeem – Asaleeb by Alhaarth) is trained by Mike de Kock and relished the step up to 2400 metres. She owns a 50% winning strike rate in six starts and wasn’t disgraced at her two most recent outings in the G2 KRA Fillies Guineas and LR East Coast Hcp.
Tajmeel is a homebred for Sheikh Hamdan and he also raced Nadeem to a G1 victory in the 2006 Blue Diamond Stakes.
Sheikh Hamdan sold Tajmeel’s dam Asaleeb to Queensland based breeder Vine Street for $28,000 at the 2010 Inglis Easter Broodmare Sale. The mare foaled another Nadeem filly later that year but died less than a month after delivering a Mosayter colt last August.
Nadeem (Redoute’s Choice) was initially based at Darley Kelvinside but they marked his cards earlier this year despite a stud record that currently reads 39 winners of 66 races in two crops. Tajmeel is his fifth stakes winner following Triple Asset, Crucial, Speedy Leo and Specter.
NZ based Little Avondale studmaster Sam Williams will stand Nadeem for an $8,000 fee this year.
