Stirring results for Vinery

Excites filly Stirring Emotion will be aiming for a hat-trick of wins next time out after she scored a narrow victory in the Sportofkings Country Plate (1280m) at Muswellbrook on Monday.

Stirring Emotion (3f Excites – Red Fever by Tonto) has only missed a place once in 8 starts and she shouldered 57kg on a Slow 7 at Muswellbrook.

Mudgee trainer Brett Thompson bought her for $16,000 from Bowness Stud at the 2010 Inglis Classic yearling sale and she has already returned $41,000 for connections.

Her sire Excites retired to Vinery after a career highlighted by a G1 victory in the AJC Sires’ Produce Stakes.  He has now sired 7 individual winners from just 16 starters in his first crop including last Thursday’s brilliant Gosford winner Avadale.

Bob Ingham paid $70,000 for the Red Ransom half-brother to Stirring Emotion at the 2011 Gold Coast Magic Millions.

Double Halo (Dubleo) made it a double for Vinery sires at Muswellbrook and Bel Edition (Bel Danoro) also saluted at Queanbeyan.

“It’s was a fantastic day for those three stallions and it comes hot on the heels of Testa Rossa’s super Saturday where he sired another new stakeswinner (Testacscana) and the stakes placed duo of Red Colossus and Testa My Patience,” Vinery’s Conor Phelan said.

“Our success is being shared around the whole roster and that’s the most pleasing thing for us and our clients as we are about to begin the breeding season.”
