Toowoomba double at Magic Millions

Bold Glance completed a running double for Toowoomba horses with a pulsating victory in the R M Williams Magic Millions Cup at the Gold Coast on Saturday.

Bold Glance (5g Sequalo – Flirting Glance by Al Ameen) edged out Zero Rock (Danzero) and the favourite Captain Sonador in a busy finish.

He is prepared by former champion rodeo rider Norm Hilton who described the tough five-year-old as a stable favourite.  “This race was always our target and we’re just so happy to win.  It’s a bigger thrill than winning that stakes race with Poor Judge on Derby Day at Flemington.”

Bold Glance was a $21,000 purchase from Lyndhurst Stud at the 2007 Magic Millions Premier yearling sale.  He has now earned over $476,000 for connections.  His dam Flirting Glance has foaled 11 winners including the black type galloper Sahara Hot Nights.

Hilton said he was thrilled to be able to make it a feature race double for Toowoomba following the win of Temple of Boom in the Myer Magic Millions Sprint.  “After the week we’ve had on the range, it’s almost embarrassing,” he explained.  “It’s been really hard watching the devastation with so many missing.
