Last start Sunshine Coast winner Vocalic will be offered as part of the Lauriston Racing draft at the Magic Millions Sale at the Gold Coast on Sunday, August 16.
Vocalic (6g Easy Rocking – Telltina by Semipalatinsk) has been a consistent money-spinner for Lauriston owners Kevin and Tanith O’Brien since winning his maiden at Toowoomba in April 2005.
He was a $130,000 buy from the Wattle Brae draft at the 2004 Gold Coast Magic Millions Sale and has since earned over $466,000 from 13 wins in 58 starts.
His dam Telltina won 10 races including the LR Exhibition Hcp at Eagle Farm and she has done just as well at stud foaling the Queensland stakes winners Tellson (Dantibes) and Tellem (Mister Kwila).
Vocalic earned black-type when runner-up to Upilio in the 2004 J F Meynink Stakes (LR) and his younger sister Rocklet also etched her name in bold when placed behind My First Affair and Michelle Cafea in the QTC Bright Shadow Hcp (LR) in April.
Other Lauriston Racing gallopers in the Magic Millions Sale are Golden Flute (Lot 57), Navigation (Lot 66), Sequallan (Lot 69) and Stellar Show (Lot 72)
The majority of Lauriston’s horses were trained by Ron Maund who was disqualified for 12 months by Queensland Racing stewards in May.
The O’Briens and Maund enjoyed a very successful partnership headed by outstanding filly Gold Edition (Lion Hunter) who was a Group 1 winner of the 2006 VRC Ascot Vale Stakes and 2007 MVRC Manikato Stakes. She retired last year and was covered by More Than Ready.
The August Mixed Thoroughbred Sale is now on-line at the Magic Millions website.
