Triassic foaled a brother to So You Think at Windsor Park on Tuesday evening. Windsor Park manager Mike Moran reports it was a straightforward delivery and the High Chaparral colt has similar markings to his older brother.
Their dam Triassic (Tights) was a G2 winner of the Sir Tristram Classic and all seven of her foals to race have been winners. Apart from the dual Cox Plate winner, she is also the dam of Tycoon Jack (Last Tycoon), Circus Dance (Carnegie), Hip Hip Hooray (Tale of the Cat), Trigonometry (Galileo), Pride’n’prejudice (Universal Prince) and La Souvenir (Nuclear Freeze).
Triassic is 20 and is owned by NZ breeder Cecile Smith in partnership with Moran. The mare has a 2yo colt by Elusive City but missed to Spartacus the following year.
Coolmore transferred High Chaparral to its Hunter Valley base this year after four seasons shuttling to Windsor Park. He is currently covering a full book of mares at a fee of $88,000.
